What’s your daily freelancing rate? I mean this all is interesting if the objective was to write an article, but if the objective was actually to solve the problem I suspect you could’ve bought a well specced macbook air or mini for a tiny fraction of the time cost expended here!!

More generally, with operating systems I’ve pretty much given up on Linux desktops. They’ve been cantankerous and weird for decades; I think there’s just not enough focus on a single good solution as opposed to many mediocre ones :(

Honestly, it’s really damning of all three (mac, linux and windows) that you ended up with an outdated windows version by preference!! Thanks for an interesting read though.
